Sanpete County works with state and federal agencies to offer incentives and grants that support local business growth. Through partnerships with organizations like the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the county provides access to funding, tax credits, and workforce development programs. These resources help attract new businesses, create jobs, and support the expansion of existing companies, fostering a thriving local economy.

Utah Inland Port Authority - Skyline Corridor
The Skyline Corridor is poised to become a major hub for economic growth and sustainable development in Utah, spanning Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties. Through the collaboration of local governments, the Utah Inland Port Authority, and private enterprises, the project aims to harness the region's rich resources and strategic location.

Economic Assistance Grant
The EAG assists Utah businesses in promoting and supporting economic opportunities in the state and provides services related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure. Grant prioritization includes projects focused on developing Utah’s five targeted industries: Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, and Software & IT.

Opportunity Zone
Opportunity Zones are low income census tracts certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury into which investors can now put capital to work financing new projects and enterprises in exchange for certain federal capital gains tax advantages.

Rural Economic Development Incentive (REDI)
The Rural Employment Development Incentive (REDI) grant supports businesses that create new, high-paying jobs in rural Utah communities. Businesses can receive up to $6,000 per new full-time position created, with the total grant amount not exceeding $250,000 per year. Eligible jobs must pay at least 100% of the county’s average wage, exist for at least 12 consecutive months, and cannot be in construction, retail, staffing, or public utilities. Businesses must apply for approval from the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity before creating any new positions.

Recycling Zone
Eligible recycling businesses that are located in designated Recycling Market Development Zones qualify for tax credits.  Zones: Ephraim, Gunnison, and unincorporated County.

HUBZone
The HUBZone Program stimulates the economy by providing Federal contracting preferences to small businesses with HUBZone certification. Sanpete County is designated as a HUBZone.

REDTIF Tax Credit
The Rural EDTIF tax credit is a post-performance, refundable tax credit for up to 50% of new state revenues (sales, corporate and withholding taxes paid to the state) over the life of the project (typically 5-10 years). It is available to companies seeking relocation and expansion of operations to the State of Utah.

Custom Fit Training
Although providing effective training is always a good long-term investment, needed training may not always be affordable. Custom Fit Training provides grant money to assist in employee training.

iMpact Utah is a non-profit training organization that helps companies throughout the state of Utah close their performance gaps so they can grow. Their hands-on engagements help companies accelerate revenue growth, achieve operational excellence, and transform managers into inspiring leaders who work through others to deliver results.

R6 Regional Council Revolving Loan Fund
